While this is over a month behind, I still wanted to share the bouquet I made the week the cherry blossoms were in full bloom in the Washington, DC area. After playing outside under the tree with my 2-year-old son, the last week in March, I felt inspired to make a hand-tied bouquet using the daffodils from my garden and the stunning cherry blossoms in my backyard. As with everything this year, the blossoms came so early and were gone before we knew it! This, however, was the first year that I really got to appreciate the beauty that has captured the area for decades and brought people from all over the world to DC in the spring! It really is magnificent when everything is in bloom, all the subtle shades of blush pink and white create an almost fairytale like aura, especially when the wind blows and the delicate small petals blanket all the yards and parks, and sometimes unlucky cars parked nearby. I have always loved picking flowers from my yard, this is where I got my start as a young floral designer and where I will always return for inspiration! Happy Spring!
